heroes.

alright i've changed my template, if you haven't noticed. i never really liked my old template anyway, but was just lazy to change. it was so plain and stupid. but i like this one now! yay! i'm so glad i managed to find it. sorry if it looks gay or anything, if it offends you so much then... then... then... i dunno. don't come here, i guess.

i'm reading 'the thin red line' now, which has managed to dash all my dreams of becoming a magnificent hero of war, a shining example to my men and do-er of impossible deeds, accomplisher of insane missions. mann 'the thin red line' really shows war to be what it actually is, not the glorious, honourable, exciting thing that it is commonly portrayed to be, instead emphasising its pure brutality, cruelty, and the sheer waste of the lives of thousands of young men.

i don't want to be a soldier anymore. i'd probably be like corporal fife and go out there to the frontlines thinking what a brave, honourable man i am to come out here and fight for my country!, but when crunch time comes and bullets start flying in swarms everywhere and dirt starts exploding in fountains of dirt around me, i'd probably run screaming to the nearest hole to hide in.

sad, but the truth. i read somewhere before, can't remember where, that "...all soldiers are heroes...". i don't know who said it. some famous guy i think. well, it's true, you're already a hero to accept a job that involves charging recklessly at millions of bullets flying at extremely high speeds towards you.

anyway, time to do homework AGAIN. seeya!
